Filming of Marvel's Moon Knight Set to Begin in March

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the creators of the series about the adventures of Marvel superhero known as Moon Knight are planning to appear on the set this March. Moreover, we have learned that actress May Calamawy has been cast for the show.

It's been almost a year and a half since the announcement of Moon Knight, another superhero series based on Marvel comics, heading to the Disney+ platform. During all this time it remained a mystery when the filming will officially start. It turns out that it will happen soon. According to the information provided by The Hollywood Reporter, the film crew is planning to appear on the set in March, this year. The shooting is to start in Budapest.

In addition, The Hollywood Reporter informed that May Calamawy has joined the cast of Moon Knight. She is a Bahraini-born actress known for productions such as Djinn and the series Ramy from Hulu. In the upcoming Disney production she is expected to play a "pivotal", though unspecified, character. The actress herself refused to comment on this subject.

We would like to remind you that we have already learned that Oscar Isaac, known among others for Ex Machina and the new Star Wars trilogy, will play the title role of Moon Knight in the show . It may be quite a challenge for the Guatemalan actor. In the original, the protagonist, an ex-soldier and mercenary, suffers from a mental illness. Four different personalities inhabit him, symbolizing the four domains of the Egyptian moon god known as Khonsu. The protagonist has become his avatar on Earth after he was saved from death. As Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige pointed out, Moon Knight's identity issues will be an important part of the upcoming show.

Mohamed Diab (creator of the 2016 Egyptian drama Clash ), Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead (both known from Endless) will be responsible for creating the Moon Knight series. Unfortunately, so far we don't know when the production will air.
