HoI4: The Great War - Great Hearts of Iron IV Mod With New Version

The Great War mod for Hearts of Iron 4 has received version 0.18, which brings many interesting new features.

A month ago, the strategy game Hearts of Iron IV celebrated its sixth birthday, and yet it remains very popular. One of the reasons, in addition to regularly released expansions, is the large and active modding community. Among the most ambitious mods for HoI4 we find the project called The Great War, which has just received a major update.

The update is numbered 0.18 and subtitled Ô Canada. It introduces a development tree for Canada and accompanying leaders, generals and advisors. Additional events have also been implemented and many map elements have been heavily improved - for example, wood can now be obtained in Plock. There were also bug fixes.

One of the most important novelties is the mod's compatibility with the game version 1.11.12 and therefore it is required to play with the mod.

Recall that The Great War is a powerful modification recreating World War I. Players can start the game in 1910, play out the years leading up to the conflict, and then shape it with their own actions.

The modification is very extensive - in order to reproduce the new reality, the developers have prepared a ton of units, technologies, characters and events. Big changes have also taken place in the geopolitical situation on the map. The project is currently operating in the open beta phase, but don't let the low version number fool you - the mod is already polished enough to provide a lot of fun.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that in parallel the creators of The Great War are working on their own commercial game entitled Fields of History: The Great War.
