Fallout New Vegas to this day remains the number one game in the series. It’s still a near perfect example of how an RPG should be – vast open world, rich story, impactful choices. These factors make Fallout New Vegas an unforgettable adventure. The game was released in 2010 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and now that the Fallout franchise experiencing a resurgence, many wonder if it’s playable on new consoles?

Fallout New Vegas – Is it on PS4 and PS5 in 2024?

Unfortunately, no. Fallout New Vegas is not available on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. While not officially remastered, lucky owners of Xbox Series X/S can experience it through backwards compatibility.

Remember the rumors about PlayStation 5 full backwards compatibility? The idea of reliving classics all the way back from PS1 was indeed mind blowing! But then ours hopes and dreams were crushed, as PlayStation officially clarified that the new system would primarily focus on playable PS4 titles.

So, is there still a chance to play Fallout New Vegas on PS4 or PS5? Well, yes and no. The game is available (without the DLCs!) on PS Plus Premium and only through streaming, but you can experience a lot of bugs, lag issues and frequent crashes while trying to survive in the Mojave Wasteland.

With the extensive mod support that can fix all or most of these problems, Fallout New Vegas is best playable on PC. As for now, PlayStation owners, like myself, can only keep their fingers crossed for a remake or remaster in the near future.
