There has been buzz again about the alleged The Golden Girls reboot, the subject of which made noise back in March of this year with a poster that appeared on Facebook. This time there was an announcement that the TV series would debut on Disney+ not in June, but in August 2024. New poster, which appeared also on Facebook, says that the new installment will consist of 10 episodes. It would star Tina Fey as Dorothy, Amy Poehler as Sophia, Lisa Kudrow as Rose and Maya Rudolph as Blanche, so many familiar faces.

According to the plot description, life in Miami is about to change drastically after Dorothy and her feisty mother are brought there to live with the flirtatious Blanche and the charmingly naive Rose. Witty banter, unexpected friendships and the funniest golden era they've seen are to await viewers.

So we have everything, the poster, and now even 2 posters, we know the cast, the plot... The problem is that they are fake. The announcement of the new TV series The Golden Girls is a project of a satirical Facebook profile, YODA BBY ABY, which is famous for creating similar posts. However, none of them are real, they are purely a satire made by the author of the profile, so fans of The Golden Girls shouldn’t get ready for August, as their beloved series won’t return then.

In truth, the chances of such a reboot being made are almost nil. There have been attempts to resurrect the TV series, which didn’t work. The TV show’s creator, Susan Harris, pointed out that without the old cast, such a series wouldn’t work out.
