Pokemon Legends: Arceus Release Date Announced

Nintendo and the Pokemon Company announced release dates for their upcoming games today. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl will release on November 19th, 2021, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus will release on January 28th, 2022.

Today, the Pokemon Company announced the release date for their upcoming games, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, as well as the upcoming remakes Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl. The remakes will be released on November 19th of this year, while Pokemon: Legends Arceus will be released on January 28th, 2022. Pre-orders are also available now.

The Pokemon Company has not revealed much information on Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but from the look of the first trailer released back in February (see below), many fans speculate this will be an open world Pokemon game. This is something Pokemon fans have been dreaming of for years, so hopefully this game can live up to the hype.

Many fans are also looking forward to revisiting the nostalgia of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl this November with the long anticipated remakes.

With Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield still hotly contested by fans for still not including over two hundred Pokemon in the Pokedex, these upcoming games could be a turning point for the franchise. Poorly executed games could drive fans further away, while the opposite could bring them all back.

Hopefully the Pokemon Company will release some new trailers or new information on these upcoming games soon so that fans will know a little more about them before pre-ordering.

Nintendo’s official Twitter also released first looks at each game's box art alongside the announcement. You can find the Pokemon Legends: Arceus box art here, and the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl box art here.

Which upcoming Pokemon game are you most excited for? The Diamond and Pearl remakes or the new and ambitious Pokemon Legends: Arceus? Leave a comment to let us know!
