Paradox Interactive studio announced a new expansion for the real-time strategy Stellaris. Focused on "cybernetic, synthetic, and machine themes," The Machine Age DLC will be released in the second quarter of 2024. You can watch the video preview below.

From the information provided by the devs, we learn that the main theme of The Machine Age will be the relationship between living beings and machines.

  1. The expansion is set to offer a lot of content, including three new origins: Cybernetic Creed, Synthetic Fertility, and Arc Welders.
  2. The Machine Age will also introduce previously unavailable forms of government, six ethos, and two mid-game structures (Arc Furnace and Dyson Swarm).
  3. Fans will get new genre traits for cyborgs, machines, and robots, as well as advancement paths for machine empires.
  4. Furthermore, the devs have prepared a fresh player crisis path and a new final crisis.

Stellaris with a paid subscription option

It's worth reminding that Stellaris is another Paradox game that has received a paid subscription option, offering access to all released expansions -- including The Machine Age, once it's released. Stellaris: Expansion Subscription is priced at $9.99 per month, $19.99 for three months in advance (in this case we save 33%), or $29.99 for six months (50% cheaper compared to the monthly option).
