The Lord of the Rings trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson, is unanimously considered a brilliant movie adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's novels that has aged very well. As a result, no one expects a remake of it to be made. Some, therefore, may have been alarmed by the trailer for The Lord of the Rings movie, which would see Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon in the lead roles.

You can watch that trailer below.

And we clarify right away that this isn’t a real trailer for The Lord of the Rings movie. This is a fan project made by KH Studio, which specializes in creating trailers for their own concepts. They realize them with the help of AI and other tools. And for The Lord of the Rings trailer, excerpts from Peter Jackson's movies were used, where the faces of Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon were superimposed on the actors from original films with the help of AI.

So we will definitely not see Tom Holland in Middle-earth in 2025, and there is no information to confirm that this will ever happen. There is no The Lord of the Rings movie planned for him to star in.

But in 2023 it was announced that there would be a new series of The Lord of the Rings films, however, since then there has been no new news, so it can be assumed that these are very distant plans that won’t be realized anytime soon. We also don't know exactly what they look like.

And if anyone misses Middle-earth, we are due to receive the animated film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim this December, and Amazon is working on season 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. These will be the only opportunities to immerse yourself in this world for now.
