Warframe The New War Launching on All Platforms Simultaneously

During yesterday's TennoCon 2021, new information was shared about the upcoming Warframe: The New War expansion. The developers also showed a 30-minute gameplay.

During yesterday's TennoCon 2021 the devs showed the first gameplays from the upcoming Warframe expansion called The New War, which will be released simultaneously on all platforms - including PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PlayStation of the last and current generation. We can expect it later, this year. Although the DLC was announced years ago, the coronavirus pandemic delayed the release. Fortunately, it turns out that Digital Extremes was not idle and presented a 30-minute fragment of gameplay from the new expansion during the event.

One of the new features, which we will encounter in The New War will be the ability to play as other characters, in addition to the chosen warrior. In the demo shown at TennoCon 2021, we see the player play as Grineer as he battles the Sentients on the open Plains of Eidolon. He then changes perspective to play as a Corpus engineer named Veso, who is struggling to survive in Earth's orbit. Finally, we watch Teshin Dax - one of the more important characters from Warframe's storyline. Presented gameplay is very spectacular and judging by the ratings and comments under the video, fans of the game liked it.

During one of the panels, the developer revealed that the script of New War is several hundred pages long. Digital Extremes called the The New War's storyline the largest and most expansive it has ever developed.

"War has arrived. The Sentients fire the opening barrage in a conflict that will reach every corner of the System. Will long-time enemies in the Origin System unite to take on Ballas, Erra and the Sentient threat, or will fragile alliances buckle under the burden of repelling full-scale invasion?" we reads on the official Warframe website.

TennoCon is a special event hosted by Digital Extremes where we are shown upcoming content for Warframe. During the events we can listen to interesting facts about the game's development process, watch gameplay from the new DLCs, as well as a Q&A session. In addition, people who watched this year's The New War presentation on Twitch received a Vastilok Gunblade weapon and Loki Prime armor. There was also an interactive event in Warframe, enabling us to check out some elements of the upcoming expansion for ourselves.

TennoCon 2021 also brought the announcement of cross-play and cross-save features between all platforms on which the game is available. The players will be able to play together with friends regardless of device and enjoy gameplay on PC and any console. After the addition of cross-play, future updates will be released simultaneously for all platforms. What's interesting, Warframe will also be coming to mobile devices.

The developers also encourage us to use the Double Credit Booster when completing the Lotus Alerts missions, available on all platforms from July 17 at 7 p.m. ET to July 19 at 2 p.m. ET, to earn an Orokin Reactor and Orokin Catalyst. In addition, on Warframe's website we can read about the return of Nightwave:

"Nightwave also returns on August 4 with Nightwave: Nora’s Choice! Nora’s bringing back some of her favorite Rewards and a few new exclusives you’ll want to spend your Cred on."

Unfortunately, the TennoCon 2021 broadcast was not without some inconveniences. Warframe had serious server issues due to an unexpected number of players logging in.

First mentions of the The New War DLC appeared back in 2018, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, work on the expansion was delayed. The The New War DLC we can expect this year.
