Satisfactory: Base location - where should I build the base?
Last update:
In Satisfactory, expanding your base and factories is very important. To expand, you need a lot of space. Follow these tips when choosing a place for a base.
First of all, place HUB next to iron deposits. You'll use this resource often, especially in the initial hours of the game. HUB has a special table which enables you to create products and various items. The closer you are, you'll lose less time on moving from spot to spot. Later, you can dismantle the HUB and place it in a new location.

Place the remaining buildings next to HUB - it has biomass generators that will be your only source of electricity in the initial stages of the game. You'll also spend less resources and materials on expanding the power grid. This way, you'll facilitate your growth and buy advanced technologies faster. Once that happens, the distance to the HUB won't matter as much.

The location for Space Elevator, the factory itself and production center should contain a lot of free and flat terrain. The Space Elevator takes up a lot of space and is required to unlock new technologies for your base. You're going to need a lot of space for your objects and production lines. The game does not contain the option to edit the terrain, build tunnels, etc. You can only build foundations that require cement. This is a good way of expanding your factory in a hostile area.
