The first totem in the game - death totem - is on your path across the woods, while you are playing the prologue as Beth. It is nearly impossible to miss it.
Fortune totem #1
You find Fortune totem #1 while playing as Sam in the first chapter, right after your meeting with the squirrel and after you climb the stairs. The totem is below the noticeboard.
Wanted warrant
The search warrant is the first tip that you can collect as either Sam or Chris. It is attached to the wall next to the passage to the shooting range, past the station.
