Kalypso Media is collaborating with Realmforge Studios on Dungeons 3, another installment in the series of light-hearted strategy games inspired by Bullfrog’s cult classic dungeon manager Dungeon Keeper. The two previous parts were fairly good – actually, the second was better than the first, meaning that developers learned from their previous mistakes, which bodes well for the third one. Dungeons 3 has been announced to come out this fall for PC (Windows, Linux), Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Here’s the reveal trailer:
In Dungeons 3 the Dungeon Lord has already united the forces of evil and is now ready to expand his dark empire from the undergrounds into the world above the surface. This has been made possible after enticing a dark elf priestess Thalya – she’s a new playable character – into becoming his chief lieutenant. With her help you will be able to not only create a unique dungeon and raise an army of monsters, but also march out onto the surface and conquer the overworld full of brave heroes and fluffy unicorns. Meh.
In terms of new gameplay features, Dungeons 3 is going to introduce randomly generated levels across 20 single player missions and new co-op mode for two players.
