Field of Glory: Empires is another Grand Strategy game and at the same time the third installment in the series developed by the French AGEod. Interestingly enough, just like in Imperator: Rome, the action is set in antic Europe – from 310 BC until the end of second century AD. Looks like the developers of grand strategy games grew very fond of this period recently.
In terms of its mechanics, Field of Glory: Empires is a classic Grand Strategy game. Players select one of dozens available factions and then develop their empires by conquering new lands (the turn-based battles give players a wide range of units to command) and taking care of the citizens. One should also remember the economy and culture. Also interesting is the multiplayer mode which utilizes… e-mail inbox. All ideas and rules were well thought-through and are balanced making the game popular among both critics and players.
