Look at items which fell off the shelf (two clues).

Pay attention to Alice Ascher's notebook (turn it in the zoom to read the notes; 2 ego points) and a box of new stockings.

Go outside and talk with Mrs Bodley. If Hercule didn't accuse her of murdering Mrs Ascher, do this now (1 ego point), then accuse her of lying (1 ego point) or ask for more explanations (1 ego point). Further lines are not scored. After this dialogue Nancy's status will change to witness.

LITTLE GREY CELLS

Can we establish the time range during which Mrs Ascher was killed ?

• The body was found at about 11 pm.
• Mrs Ascher was seen alive at 5.30 pm.

Can we reduce this time range and why?

• The fruit seller did not see anybody in the shop at 6 pm.
• Because of the counter, the body is not visible from the tobacco shop's door (5 ego points).

Take bottle of vinegar (near the stand), g back to the tobacco shop and use it on Franz Ascher.

Then look at him (three clues). Pay attention to his black eye, split lip and a torn coat sleeve.

Talk with Ascher. Accuse him of having threatened his wife (3 ego points), then accuse him of ill-treating her (3 ego points). You can also ask what he was doing yesterday (1 ego point), and next about his alcoholism(1 ego point). Finally, make fun of him being beaten up (3 ego points).

After this dialogue Frank's status will change to witness.
