American Truck Simulator: Traffic lights; Police

Traffic lights in North America are positioned on other side of the road. It makes things much easier, as you can drive to the very line and stop your vehicle without worrying that you won't notice the lights change to green.
Uncontrolled intersections will be troublesome for many new players due to the lack of the right-side rule. "The first the better" rule applies there. Most of these intersections has a STOP sign which works in the following way: whoever drives towards it as first has the priority.
In addition to that, there is no "green arrow" on the lights in USA that would allow turning right. However, it is possible to do it on red light if previously you have signalized such action. In order to do it, drive towards the white line, stop your vehicle and check whether no vehicle is driving from the left side (remember that the incoming vehicles have priority). If the road is clear, you can move.
Police

Police is a new feature added in American Truck Simulator. It is a small impediment in completing routes. It is hard to break the speed limit when cops can appear always, on each road, you might not even notice them and the fine for breaking the speed limit is $1000. Speed cameras does not appear in USA too often (and even if they do, they must be signalized with a sign). Police vehicles standing on the sidelines are more frequent and they are checking your speed (even on highways).
Don't be surprised if sometimes you will receive two times higher fee than regularly. If the police is near a place where you break some law, for example you drive on red light, the fine will increase from $700 to $1400.
