Deus Ex Pure Vanilla is a mod for Deus Ex, created by Ambient_Malice.

Description (in author’s own words):

This mod is designed to provide a pure vanilla Deus Ex experience by combining a small assortment of existing mods/unofficial patches in an easy to use installer. I decided to assemble this mod because I couldn't find a pure vanilla mod to recommend to Deus Ex newcomers. All the mods are either partial solutions or go overboard. (Even the highly respected GMDX makes a number of controversial alterations.)

REMEMBER TO INSTALL A CLEAN VERSION OF DEUS EX, AND THEN RUN IT (TO THE MAIN MENU) AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE INSTALLING THIS MOD.

I made a number of additional changes:

DX10 renderer was enabled by default with Classic Lighting. (The other lighting system with HDR looks hideous.)

Framerate was capped at 60fps.

Anti-aliasing was set to 4x

Anisotropic filtering was set to 16x

Reload was rebound to R.

TAB now opens inventory instead of throwing away items.

Known Issue:

For some reason, the first line of dialogue in the game: "Your appointment with FEMA should be finalized within the week. I've already discussed the matter with the Senator," is silent when playing with a widescreen resolution.

Deus Ex Maps Patch Fix List:

-Absence of music when entering Hell’s Kitchen a third time.

-Absence of the emergency hatch in the elevator facing the Queen’s Tower.

-Poor lightings with low contrasts in a few maps.

-The ability to kill MJ12 soldiers with a secret gas valve in Hong Kong heliport (Buggy in the 1.112fm GotY Edition).

-Other minor bugs.

- Throwing knife "ammo" has no icon for the items received window
