This mod is a comprehensive remastering effort to create a definitive, path-traced Fallout: New Vegas experience.

8. This mod was developed with the aid of a custom-made plugin, the "RTX Remix Substance Painter Connector." This powerful tool is designed to streamline the asset texturing workflow for modders using NVIDIA's RTX Remix toolkit. It acts as a bridge, creating a seamless connection between the powerful texturing capabilities of Adobe Substance 3D Painter and the RTX Remix environment.

CORE FEATURES:

Two-Way Asset Transfer: The main feature is the ability to easily transfer assets between Substance Painter and RTX Remix.

Pull from Remix: You can select any game asset (like a prop, weapon, or piece of architecture) directly within the RTX Remix Toolkit and instantly pull it into Substance Painter to begin texturing. The plugin automatically sets up a new Painter project with the correct mesh.

Push to Remix: After you've created your new high-quality textures, you can push them back to Remix with a single click. The plugin handles the entire process: exporting the textures in the correct format, ingesting them into the Remix project structure, and automatically updating the in-game material to use your new creations.

Blender UV Unwrapping Integration: For meshes that don't have proper UV layouts for texturing, the plugin can automatically call Blender to perform a "Smart UV Project." This unwraps the mesh on the fly before it's imported into Substance Painter, saving you the manual step of fixing UVs.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: INSTALL XORXOR4D'S COMPATIBILITY MOD

This mod is a fork of NewVegasRTXHelper, featuring fixed function rendering of skinned and static meshes, greatly improving performance and fixing normal issues on skinned meshes.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Pip-Boy rendering is currently broken.

INSTALLATION STEPS:

Download the Release from Github.com.

Extract all files (excluding _documents) into your Fallout New Vegas folder (next to FalloutNV.exe).

Note: The download comes with NVSE. Do not use these files if you already have NVSE installed.

Install Fallout Alpha Rendering Tweaks - NVSE. Download from Nexusmods.com Place files in "Fallout New Vegas\Data\NVSE\Plugins"

Open your FalloutPrefs.ini in Documents/My Games/FalloutNV/. Find the line sD3DDevice="YOUR_GPU_NAME" and save that line somewhere (e.g., in a text editor).

Put the .ini files from the _documents folder (found in the compatibility mod download) into Documents/My Games/FalloutNV/. Make a backup of your existing .ini files before doing this.

Open the new FalloutPrefs.ini and replace sD3DDevice="NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080" with the exact string you saved in step 4.

STEP 2: INSTALL SKURTYY'S FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS RTX MOD

Download this Fallout: New Vegas RTX mod.

Place "package" into your rtx-remix/mods folder (create the mods folder if one does not exist).

Launch the game using nvse_loader.exe.
