Wonder Woman 1984 – the invisible jet

  1. Year: 2020
  2. Directed by Patty Jenkins
  3. Rotten Tomatoes score: 58%
  4. Metacritic score: 60

It may be an overstatement, but the first part of Wonder Woman seemd a breath of fresh air in the DC Comics universe akin to this year's The Peacemaker, starring John Cena. Even though they took the easy way out by portraying an ultimate villain, everyone probably appreciated the vibe of the First World War or the chemistry between Gal Gadot and Chris Pine.

On the other hand, the second entry in the series (also directed by Patty Jenkins) was a misunderstanding, the complete opposite of the quality of part one. Wonder Woman 1984 is a toothless, sloppy, embarrassing creation compared to the previous installment. Many people disliked Gal Gadot's accent, too.

But once again, we find here one scene that somewhat redeems this movie. [SPOILER] Once we come to terms with the fact that the soul of Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) returns to the body of a completely random person, and Diana (along with the viewer) sees this persona as (literally!) the embodiment of Chris Pine, the scene in the invisible jet can be moving. Despite the fact that Trevor died many years earlier, the heroine has a chance to regain her lost paradise, even if just for a few days. We realize that this is only a fleeting return to the past, but it's easy to root for this couple. After all, they deserve a happier ending.
