11 Great Scenes in Bad Movies

Today we present eleven brilliant scenes and film sequences that we got a chance to see in not necessarily successful productions.

Table of Contents

Rocky V – Rocky vs. Tommy Gunn

  1. Year: 1991
  2. Directed by John G. Avildsen
  3. Rotten Tomatoes score: 30%
  4. Metacritic score: 55

The series about Rocky is a funny case, where the first and the last part (if we take into account the latest films about Adonis Johnson) are actually great, whereas anything in-between is romancing with the bottom. This is sure the case of the fifth installment, which was universally considered the worst moment of the entire franchise. And although the film returns to favors after many years, it is still pretentious, boring, and generally strange in terms of where the creators took the development of Rocky Balboa.

The fact that the film attracts any interest means that it must have at least one successful scene. Indeed, the scene of Rocky's fight with Tommy Gunn was the only moment of boxing magic in the worst part of his series. [SPOILER] Once we think that Balboa will be defeated, he hears the voice of his former coach Mickey, which boosts his confidence and allows him to win the match. The scene is well done and shows that Stallone still understands his (in this case somewhat dysfunctional) hero. Interestingly, Gunna was played by a real boxer – Tommy Morrison; this little detail only adds to the power with which this combat sequence exerts itself on the audience.
