Broken Sword 2.5: The Return Of The Templars

The first two installments of the Broken Sword series are true classics that have permanently entered the adventure games canon. However, the series later abandoned 2D, and the plot and puzzles of the next two parts left little to be desired. So fans took matters into their own hands, and the result was Broken Sword 2.5.

It is a full-length new game in the series, set after the events of "two" and made in its style. So we have a lovely, fully two-dimensional graphic setting and purely point & click gameplay. The plot layer is equally successful, especially since the script in many clever ways alludes to the brand's official releases.

Overall, it was a great adventure and many fans consider it a better sequel than the official sequel to the series. Who knows if the success of this particular production did not encourage the authors of the first two BSs to return to their roots in the fifth installment of the series.

King's Quest I-III

King's Quest III Redux

The King's Quest series is one of the most important series in the history of adventure games, but these days its early releases scare away most fans of the genre with its dated graphics and text-based input method. The Sierra studio, responsible for the series, released several remakes of its early works, but for some reason, they never did with King's Quest. This oversight was corrected by brand aficionados gathered at AGD Interactive studio.

Over the course of several years, the team developed remakes of the first three installments of the series, namely King's Quest: Quest for the Crown, King's Quest II: Romancing the Throne, and King's Quest III: To Heir Is Human. They were all done in a style modeled after the official fifth and sixth installments of the series. So we got lovely retro graphics corresponding to the VGA standard and a point-n-click interface. Each installment faithfully reproduces the original content, and at the same time has received numerous improvements and some new elements. In total, we have three excellent productions that are absolutely mandatory for adventure fans.

Digital: A Love Story

We like original games, which have also been very well made, and undoubtedly Digital: A Love Story is such a title. It is an adventure game with a story combining elements of romance and crime fiction, set in 1988, in the early days of the internet.

The genius of Digital: A Love Story is that the whole game pretends to be a computer from the late 1980s. Beyond a Steel Sky

Classics' library includes Beneath a Steel Sky, a cyberpunk adventure game released in 1994 by Revolution Software, a studio mostly known from Broken Sword series. Many years ago, the full version was made available for free and remains so, even despite a release of a slightly improved paid remaster.

The game tells the story of a man abducted to a bleak dystopian city, where he must find a way to survive and discover the truth about his abduction. Beneath a Steel Sky offers an interesting storyline, excellent, dense atmosphere, elaborate puzzles, and a nice graphic setting, created by comics artist Dave Gibbons. Moreover, the game contains a system of so-called. virtual theatre, causing the characters to not stand idly still, making them travel around the city doing daily chores.
