Elvis is: music, dance, rebellion, sex, cinema, acting, addiction, women, ego, dark side, Tom Parker, comeback concert and death by overdose. But the movie is just the director's excuse to do a musical. And the director in question is Baz Luhrmann, responsible for such gems like Moulin Rouge! and The Great Gatsby , - once again finding a story that appeals to his idea of a movie. Some time ago, he had Fitzgerald, now he has Presley - a name that generates millions of dollars even long ago after his death.

Austin Butler, the main actor, becomes one with Presley. He even collaborated with the choreographer responsible for preparing Rami Malek for the role of Freddy Mercury, so don't be surprised if Butler will receive an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. The evil "Colonel" Tom Parker by Tom Hanks is somewhat of a caricature. And even if he was the person responsible for many of Presley's problems, the film lacks a slightly better-defined character who would be the opposite of our protagonist. But his performance is still a good one!
