9. Gohan, supported by Goku, defeats Cell

  1. Which series is it: Dragon Ball Z
  2. Starring: Gohan, Cell, Goku (as a ghost)

Apparently, after the Cell saga, Gohan was to become the main character of the entire series. For this reason, Toriyama was to kill his father and symbolically pass the baton to his son. And although Goku returns to the fore in the Buu saga, during the final battle with Cell everything indicates that Gohan will become the most important in Dragon Ball .

So far gentle and often reluctant Gohan, after reaching SSJ2, begins to play with Cell. While he can defeat him, he prefers to fight longer. For this reason, the situation becomes so complicated that the sacrifice of Goku seems to be the last resort. Gohan's father actually dies, but Cell survives, returning to the battlefield even stronger. This time it is the wounded Gohan who is pushed to the defensive.

Eventually there is a Kamehameha standoff. Cell and Son Gohan struggle for a long time, taking turns gaining an advantage and losing it. Additionally, the antagonist's attention is distracted by Vegeta, Yamcha, Kuririn, Tien, and Piccolo. Gohan, forced to fight with one hand, is supported by Goku from the afterlife. Kamehameha of the combined forces of father and son ultimately turns out to be strong enough to defeat his opponent. Finally, Cell is annihilated and Earth is saved.
