The Surge, but in a new guise?
German Deck13 Interactive is once again trying to win a piece of the soulslike market – this time with the game Atlas Fallen. The opinions about The Surge from the same studio were mixed, so they have now toned their game down a bit, delivering something closer to an action RPG. We will explore a desert realm of fantasy, full of secrets and enemies to defeat. Somewhere in the background, a story justifying our actions is supposed to unfold, but it won't be the most important part of it.
Another soulslike, or an action RPG already?
In Atlas Fallen, the fight is supposed to be the most important. During battles, we'll use a shapeshifting weapon and utilize spectacular combat abilities. Of course, there will be boss fights, from whom we will collect the essence needed for the hero's development. Another element worth mentioning is the open world waiting for adventure seekers. No worries, it supposedly won't be empty!
