An online first-person extraction shooter, featuring combat that takes place in environments susceptible to changes in gravity and spatial topology. Active Matters allows us to use firearms, melee weapons, vehicles, drones, as well as anomalies from the game world. We can encounter SCP-like objects, and our job is to safely extract the loot.

Gaijin Entertainment is known for War Thunder and Matter Team emerged from that studio. It is a company created to develop a virtual experience that combines elements of Escape from Tarkov with the atmosphere of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. In Active Matter we play as an agent trapped in a time loop. We gather loot to a safe zone, fighting rivals from other timelines using anomalies that defy the laws of physics.

Gameplay

The core of the extraction gameplay in Active Matter consists of PvP and PvPvE battles with dozens of players competing for the titular matter and other loot.The fights involve the use of firearms and melee weapons, drones, vehicles, and ultimately, the anomalies present in the world.

Survival is facilitated by meticulous inventory management and careful use of weapons and medkits. The game features precise mechanics of tactical shooting and character movement.

Game modes

Active Matter offers four types of gameplay: extraction raids in PvE/PvPvE (solo or in teams of up to three players), PvE raids, "pure" PvP battles, and large-scale syndicate wars.
