Adaptory

Heavily inspired by such titles as Oxygen Not Included and Rimworld, simulation strategy game Adaptory represents the debut project of independent studio Stormcloak Games. The side-scrolling survival ?game was developed with funding from the New Zealand government.

Gameplay

Each game begins with an emergency landing of four explorers on a planetoid. Using limited resources and their creativity, we must explore the environment, construct a thriving base, rebuild the ship andeventually return home.

Adaptory places emphasis on characters that are generated from scratch each time we approach. Crew members emerge from different backgrounds, and each has their own traits and personality, determining their behavior during gameplay. For example, a twenty-year-old construction worker may be characterized by organization but have a fear of the dark, while a clever middle-aged electrician may be nervous and gruff toward his comrades.
