Adventure Time Game Wizard

Adventure Time Game Wizard is a humorous platform game set in the crazy universe of Adventure Time, the popular TV series emitted by Cartoon Network channel. It has been developed by Adult Swim studio, which is a part of the Cartoon Network Company.

Plot

The story of Adventure Time Game Wizard for AND and iOS follows the main heroes of the TV show: the talking dog Jake and his companion Finn. This time they find a mysterious sketchbook of the Doodle Wizard (voiced by Weird Al. Jankovic) and discover that everything they draw magically comes to life. Without a second of hesitation, the protagonist starts to sketch their adventures and watch in amazement, as all of their drawings become real stories and heroes.

Game mechanics

At first glance, Adventure Time Game Wizard is a classic platformer, in which our characters traverse levels filled with checkpoints to discover, magical coins to collect and enemies to fight. Our main objective is to find a dark secret of the Doodle Wizard, owner of the unusual sketchbook Jake and Finn have found. However, the game also functions as powerful and innovative editor with Robin Rantha’s Pixel Press technology at its core. It lets us draw parts of levels on normal paper sheet and then scan them thanks to built-in camera of smartphone or tablet. This simple but brilliant feature allows fans of Adventure Time to single-handedly design and draw new stages for heroes of the TV show, like Jake, Finn, Ice King and Marceline.

It should be noted that while Pixel Press is interesting addition, developers did not forget about more typical options for editing level with tracer or touchscreen.

Technical aspects

Adventure Time Game Wizard uses almost identical, cartoonish visual style as the original TV series, as well the same voice actors for all characters.
