Video games, as well as movies and books, have accustomed us to the portrayal of alchemists as people secluded in their laboratories, fully dedicating themselves to their work, slowly and meticulously carrying out their duties. However, the independent studio D5 Copperhead decided to prove that an alchemical laboratory doesn't have to differ from an average factory, and alchemy itself can become a lucrative business operating almost without our involvement. This is how the simulation game titled Alchemy Factory was born.

Gameplay

In Alchemy Factory events are viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP). During the game our primary goal is to build a thriving alchemy factory from scratch. However, the game does not force us to personally tend to plants, measure potion ingredients drop by drop, or meticulously create magical gems.

Automation of alchemy

Various processes in the factory can be automated. In our laboratory, we can use machines for grinding herbs, extracting essences, distilling elixirs, or transforming ore into the Philosopher's Stone. Additionally, we can create complex production lines consisting of conveyor belts transporting ingredients and finished products, pipelines through which magical liquids can reach wherever they are needed, and portals that simplify the transportation of ingredients and products.

Expansion and improvement of the factory

Of course, we need gold coins for everything, which we obtain from trading finished products. Just like production, sales can also be automated by using self-service checkouts or special dispensers (resembling small catapults) that restock the shelves. As we progress, our purses become heavier, and we can gradually expand our factory to increase its production capacity and automate it to a greater extent.
