A sequel to the co-op shooter set in the Alien universe. Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 introduces predefined characters of Xenomorph hunters, replacing classes from the first game. The pillar of the sequel is the story campaign, and it can be completed either solo or in cooperation.
In 2021, Cold Iron Studios and Focus Entertainment created Aliens: Fireteam Elite, a cooperative shooter set in the Alien universe. Subsequently, the mantle was taken over by Daybreak Game Company, best known for the EverQuest series, which delivered the sequel Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 described here.
In Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). The game is divided into combat missions during which we explore an extraterrestrial colony, engage in conversations with NPCs, and gather clues about the events that took place there. Most importantly, we fight against xenomorphs that stand in our way.
Compared to its predecessor, this title stands out due to the presence of predefined characters and players control them during the game. Each character has a nickname, individual personality, as well as a unique set of skills and preferred weaponry.
All characters can perform dodges, engage in melee attacks, and use passive bonuses to enhance their combat effectiveness. The system is complemented by special and ultimate abilities inspired by classes from the first installment of the series.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 allows to play solo or in online co-op mode (with a maximum of two other people). There is a story campaign, as well as additional modes like Annihilation or Horde.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 tells the story of Xenomorph hunters known as DAGGER Company. The protagonists arrive at one of the extraterrestrial colonies to save its inhabitants from space predators. They are accompanied by Julianna, who has a mysterious connection to the Engineers, and for whom the visit to the colony is an opportunity to confront traumas from her own past.
