Antipole DX is a remastered version of Antipole, a 2D platformer released in 2011. The new edition was prepared with Nintendo consoles in mind and received an improved graphic design and a new soundtrack. The game was developed by Saturnine Games.

Plot

As in the original title, the plot isn't important in Antipole DX. The scenario is based on very general rules and is designed to give the player only a superficial knowledge of the main character's motives. The protagonist is Johnny Hurricane, an agent with extraordinary abilities, who is the only one able to stop the ongoing invasion of murderous robots. The action has been set in the distant future meaning that we have access to various technologically advanced weapons.

Mechanics

Our basic weapon is a gravitation manipulator, allowing, among other things, to walk on walls or ceilings and change the position of enemies. Many of the fights can be won only with skillful use of this ability. Despite such an advanced device, Antipole DX isn't an easy game - the robots shoot numerous missiles and the ship is full of traps.

Technical aspects

In addition to improved graphics and a new soundtrack, Antipole DX features several new levels, modifications to the existing ones, and a few changes to the bosses. Also, the title supports online rankings.
