The Awakener: Risen

Arise of Awakener is an action RPG inspired by Dragon's Dogma, released in 2012. The game was developed by Taner Game studio and published by GameraGame.

Plot

Arise of Awakener takes us on a journey to the fantasy world inspired by the medieval Europe. During the game we play as a hero who explores this colorful and full of dangers land trying to become Awakened One.

Mechanics

In Arise of Awakener we observe the action from third person perspective (TPP). Game provides us with a vast open world, where we can travel on foot, on the back of the mount or in the skies, steering an airship or riding a powerful dragon.

The game allows us to choose one of three character classes, and which profession we decide on determines its fighting style and preferred weaponry. While the warrior fights well in close combat, the archer eliminates enemies from a safe distance, and the mage uses a wide range of combat spells. Regardless of the choice, battles are dynamic and reminiscent of slashers. Reflexes and agility are equally important as skillful juggling of the protagonist's abilities. On our way we face both regular enemies and bosses much stronger than them.

In the breaks from slaughtering fantastic beasts we can visit taverns, explore the secrets of the numerous ruins and obtain valuable resources.

Technical aspects

Arise of Awakener runs on Unreal Engine technology. The game makes good use of the engine's capabilities; the effects that accompany the use of magic are especially pleasing, but also the enemies and the environment, rich in detail, look good.
