Autoscopia Interactive is a small Danish indie studio. Its name is derived from the word "autoscopy," which means the experience of "observing oneself" from a distant perspective. Started as a student project, the introspective As Long As You're Here belongs to the genre of engaging games, reminiscent of the strongly narrative That Dragon, Cancer.

Gameplay

As Long As You're Here is a simple interactive story focused on the narrative aspect, so we won't see logical puzzles or complex gameplay mechanics in it. Instead, as an elderly woman dealing with Alzheimer's disease, we perform daily activities such as making coffee, watering plants, or taking medication.

Deceiving the player

The routine nature of our actions takes on a deeper dimension with the increasing confusion of the protagonist. To convey a sense of disorientation, the game deceives the player - a left-behind cup changes its position, the number of medications doesn't match what we previously recorded, and finally, entire rooms undergo transformation. The family is sitting at the table, even though they weren't there when we entered the dining room a moment ago. Additionally, some dialogues disappear from the screen, simulating the fading of incoherent memories.
