Atlyss is an action RPG with a TPP camera and a PS2-inspired graphics style. We can play alone or in multiplayer mode. The game allows to create our own character representing one of three classes. We explore the world, defeat enemies, and complete various quests.
The main pros of the game
- Gameplay Mechanics: The combat is described as fast-paced, fluid, and satisfying, with a strong emphasis on skill-based mechanics like parrying and dodging. Players appreciate the variety of weapons and the ability to create unique builds.
- Character Customization: The character creator is highly praised for its depth, allowing for significant customization, including body proportions and aesthetics. Players enjoy the freedom to create diverse characters.
- Nostalgic Aesthetic: The game’s art style and music evoke nostalgia for older RPGs and MMORPGs, reminiscent of titles from the PS1 and PS2 era. Many players feel it captures the charm of classic games well.
- Multiplayer Experience: The game shines in multiplayer mode, with players enjoying cooperative gameplay and the social aspects of teaming up with friends.
- Developer Engagement: The developer is noted for being responsive to community feedback and regularly updating the game, which gives players hope for future improvements.
The main cons of the game
- Content Limitations: Several reviews mention a lack of content, with many players feeling they have exhausted the available quests and features after a relatively short playtime (around 15-20 hours).
- Enemy Design and Difficulty: Some enemies are criticized for being overly reliant on swarm tactics, making solo play frustrating. Boss fights can feel like a slog due to their high health and damage output.
- Balancing Issues: There are complaints about class balancing, particularly regarding the Bandit class being overly powerful in terms of resource generation compared to others.
- Quality of Life Features: Players mention missing features such as inventory management improvements, better quest variety, and the need for a pause function during gameplay.
The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users
- More Content and Quests: Users desire additional quests, secrets, and areas to explore to enhance longevity and replayability.
- Improved Solo Experience: Many players want the game to be more balanced for solo play, suggesting that the difficulty should be adjusted to provide a better experience when not playing with friends.
- Inventory Management: Suggestions include larger inventory space, sorting options, and auto-pickup features to streamline gameplay.
- Expanded Class and Skill Options: Players are looking for more classes, skills, and unique abilities to diversify gameplay and character builds.
- Additional Activities: Users express a wish for non-combat activities (like fishing or mini-games) to provide a break from the combat-focused gameplay.
Summary
- Overall, while ATLYSS has garnered a positive reception for its engaging gameplay and character customization, players are keenly aware of its limitations and are hopeful for future updates that will address their concerns.

Atlyss Description
Atlyss is an action RPG developed by the independent studio KisSoft, behind which stands the developer using the pseudonym Kiseff. This creator also has such projects as CHANGkaBANG and SEEJ Tournament to their credit.
Character creation - races and classes
Atlyss takes us to a fantasy world which we explore in the skin of a character we created ourselves. The game allows us to decide on the race and gender of the protagonist, as well as their profession and appearance.
We have at our disposal such races as Chang (reminiscent of rodents), Poon (ancient, forest creatures), Imp (demons from the water realm), Kubold (hermits endowed with magical abilities) or Byrdle (creatures evoking associations with birds).
As for the available character classes - we can play as a warrior (specialized in close combat), a mystic (a wizard making use of combat magic), or a bandit (a mercenary making use of his agility and skills in using ranged weapons).
Gameplay
In Atlyss we see the action from a third person perspective (TPP). The gameplay does not deviate from other titles of the genre, so while playing we explore locations (both the world on the surface and the dungeons spreading beneath it), get to know their inhabitants and complete quests, as well as engage in dynamic battles with groups of enemies. Along the way, we collect equipment (which we find in the game world or buy from traders) and develop our character.
Co-op
Atlyss works better in multiplayer offering both a co-op and a competitive mode via the Internet. Nonetheless, the game also allows for single-player gameplay.
Graphics
The graphic design of Atlyss is maintained in a style reminiscent of the times of the sixth generation consoles (PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube).
