Batman: Arkham Shadow is a spin-off of the Batman: Arkham series, designed for virtual reality headsets. The game was developed by the Camouflaj team, which has projects like Marvel’s Iron Man VR in its portfolio, while its release was handled by Oculus Studios.
The action of Batman: Arkham Shadow is set about 2 years after the events depicted in Batman: Arkham Origins. July 4th begins to change into the so-called "Day of Wrath" thanks to the mysterious Rat King, whose appearance in Gotham City leads to the outbreak of riots. The Dark Knight has no choice, but to step into action and try to prevent the disaster before things completely get out of control.
Batman: Arkham Shadow allows us to learn about the beginnings of iconic villains such as Scarecrow or even Harley Quinn. The game also includes other characters known to fans, such as Harvey Dent and Jim Gordon.
In Batman: Arkham Shadow we view the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The adventure leads us through the dark corners of Gotham City and allows us to visit such places as the Monarch Theatre or Bowery. While exploring them, we make use of Batman's characteristic equipment, including a grappling hook (which allows the protagonist to get to hard-to-reach places), a cape (which allows for quiet and safe landings after jumping from great heights) and explosive gel (which can be used to blow up weak walls and thus create new passages).
Gadgets also come in handy during confrontations with opponents. Batman's path is filled with shady characters, whom the hero neutralizes by fighting hand-to-hand or acting silently and taking enemies by surprise. In the first case, we need to demonstrate agility and reflexes to effectively dodge and launch accurate attacks, while in the second - primarily cunning, and sometimes also patience (carefully observing the patrol routes of adversaries and waiting for the right moment to take action). In addition, observation skills are also useful during the game. Batman is not only a terror for the criminals, but also a detective, so the game is full of investigations and puzzle-solving.

Game Ratings for Batman: Arkham Shadow Video Game.
GamingTrend: 90 / 100 by David Burdette
Batman: Arkham Shadow is the latest must-buy VR title, and does its namesake justice. Being Batman is something you dream of, and Camouflaj has done great work in putting you under the cowl. Where some teams would simply offer a short VR experience, the team has crafted a game rich in depth between combat, exploration, and story.
CBR: 9 / 10 by Mark O'Callaghan
It makes sense that Meta bundled Arkham Shadow with new purchases for their Meta Quest 3/3S, as this game is a headset seller. Camaouflaj made a full-length Arkham VR game that perfectly immerses players in the world. Being Batman is rewarding, as taking out enemies never felt better. Getting involved in a conspiracy that engulfed Gotham while fighting legions of enemies with some of the superhero genre's most famous gadgets is pure Dark Knight goodness. With these in mind, Batman: Arkham Shadow isn't just the best VR title out right now and a great holiday gift, but it's the worthy continuation of the Batman: Arkham games that fans have been waiting for.
Siliconera: 8 / 10 by Graham Russell
While it may not have the immersive mechanics to be a great VR introduction, Batman: Arkham Shadow is fun to play and faithful to its Arkham predecessors. And yeah, picking off enemies one-by-one feels great.
