Beasts of Maravilla Island is a 3D adventure game. We play as a photographer who comes to the magical island to take pictures of the animals living there. The game was developed by the Banana Bird Studios development team. The publisher is Whitethorn Digital.
The main character of Beasts of Maravilla Island is a young photographer named Marina Montez, who came to Maravilla Island equipped with a camera and her father's journal. The girl's goal is to discover the secret of the magical place and photograph all the creatures living there.
In Beasts of Maravilla Island we observe the action from third person perspective (TPP). The game is about exploring the locations (it often requires jumping or climbing) and solving puzzles. The island is made up of three different zones - Singing Jungle, Glimmering River and Painted Plateau.
While exploring these places we gradually discover new creatures (there are several dozen of them), we take pictures of them and learn more and more about them. The player also gets various opportunities to interact with the encountered creatures - we can, for example, play with them and participate in various situations from their lives.
When taking photos, we can adjust a number of parameters, such as height or zoom. We collect photos in an album (we can arrange them as we wish).
In Beasts of Maravilla Island we can play only solo. The core of the game is a story campaign.
Beasts of Maravilla Island has a nice, 3D graphic design. In terms of technology, the game is a bit behind the industry leaders, but it makes up for it with interesting, extremely charming and colourful designs of locations and creatures inhabiting the island.
