Blake Stone is a futuristic FPS created by JAM Productions. The player takes on the role of the title agent and gets a unique chance to get rid of Dr. Pyrus Goldfire, a madman trying to take over the world, once and for all.

The game was created on the basis of Wolfenstein 3D, which means that all boards are one-level and built of square blocks. Given that the game was released in the week before the Doom release, it was a very archaic solution. As a result of the intervention of JAM Productions, Apogee Software also accelerated the release of the game, as there was a real fear that Blake Stone would not stand the competition after the release of Doom, which was partially confirmed. Despite the use of an outdated engine, the game also contains some interesting adventure elements, which make the game more attractive. First of all, the levels on which we have to move are not filled only with enemies. In some places you can meet neutral scientists who will help you wander through enemy territory, giving us various items. The chips scattered here and there will also be useful, because you can buy food for them in vending machines scattered all over the area of the base. For the first time in the history of FPS, a map was introduced. Admittedly, it is outlined only after the completion of a given level, showing the rooms penetrated by the player, but at any moment you can return to the previous stage and use the knowledge acquired in this way. Blake Stone offers 60 levels, divided into six episodes, filled with monsters from cheap s/f movies. Five weapons are used to exterminate them.
