The second remaster of Blood - a fast-paced FPS from 1997. Blood: Refreshed Supply was released by Nightdive Studios. Not only it improves the graphics, but also introduces two brand new scenarios - Marrow and Death Wish. There are also other bonuses, including behind-the-scenes materials.
In 1997, the team at Monolith Productions delivered a brutal shooter titled Blood. In 2019, the Nightdive Studios team prepared a slightly refreshed version titled Blood: Fresh Supply. Blood: Refreshed Supply described here is yet another remaster of this title, created by Nightdive Studios in cooperation with Warner Bros. Games and Atari.
Compared to the original, Blood: Refreshed Supply stands out thanks to its modernized graphics. The developers have updated the visuals to handle 4K resolution and to run with an unlocked framerate.
But that's not all, as Blood: Refreshed Supply also includes Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage DLC content, as well as two brand new mission scenarios: Marrow and Death Wish .
To top it all off, there's a Vault filled with behind-the-scenes footage from the making of Blood.
Blood: Refreshed Supply doesn't introduce any major changes to the mechanics. The action is viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP).
We visit gloomy locations and eliminate hordes of enemies during the game. We have to deal with the cultists of the dark god, gargoyles, zombies, or even hellhounds breathing fire. Combat in the game is dynamic and we use a wide range of weapons on the battlefield, which includes firearms (such as the iconic Tommy Gun or shotgun) and melee weapons, as well as more sophisticated murderous tools (such as a flare gun, aerosol can, napalm launcher, voodoo dolls or leeches).
The game also forces us to search for keys that grant us access to new levels. While visiting locations, we also discover various secrets and acquire additional arsenal, so it's worth checking every corner.
Blood: Refreshed Supply can be played solo or in multiplayer mode (online or split-screen). The game allows for both cooperation and competition with other players.
In Blood: Refreshed Supply we play as Caleb, a gunslinger who, for some unknown reason, was betrayed and killed during his lifetime by his demonic master. The protagonist rises from the grave to take revenge on his tormentor and put an end to his cult .

A fun revamped take on a classic FPS
GameOnly: 3.5 / 5 by Daniel Kucner
It’s impossible to deny Blood its incredibly dense atmosphere and excellent gunplay, but the game can also disappoint you as well. Still, even after all these years, Blood remains enjoyable and serves as an interesting alternative to today’s shooters. Major praise goes to Nightdive Studios for delivering another strong remaster of a game that, despite its quality, still has a few design issues.

On the one hand, I had a good time with Blood: Refreshed Supply. I’m glad that the makers of Marrow and Deathwish are being compensated for their work. I love the new cutscenes, the fixes, and the Vault. It’s a no-brainer purchase for console players. On the other hand, when it comes to the PC, I’m torn. As someone who purchased Fresh Supply at full price and got disappointed, I believe this should have been a free upgrade or, at the very least, a $4.99 upgrade. Moreover, asking $30 for a nearly 30-year-old game is just crazy in this economy—I’m sure Atari had the final say in this. Blood: Refreshed Supply is good. The business model? Not so much.
