BOID is a class system based, original real-time strategy focusing on multiplayer competition. The game is the result of cooperation between a small French studio Mokus Games and an independent publisher of tinyBuild, known for such productions as Not the Robots and No Time to Explain.

The game title is an abbreviation for Bio Organic Infestation Drones, which in free translation means a swarm of bio-organic drones. This reflects the concept of gameplay - it puts players in the role of primitive organisms, which, when they hit a foreign planet, are forced to evolve to develop their special abilities in order to eliminate the opponents they meet there.

Players have at their disposal 8 classes of units with strengths and weaknesses based on the principle of playing paper-scissors-stone. Among them you will find units attacking the enemy with poison, exploding in contact with the enemy, or immobilizing and devouring their victims. Some of them have high speed and less health, others are more robust at the expense of less mobility. Individual classes perform differently in reconnaissance, offensive and defensive tasks, and the key to victory is the skillful use of the above mentioned features.

BOID focuses on short and dynamic clashes, which can last from 2 to 20 minutes depending on the players' skills. A typical match is to deploy units, choose the right strategy and counteract enemy attacks. In addition, during the game we can use defensive guns and special databases located on maps, generating unique abilities, which after charging can be used by our units. Among them you will find, for example, the possibility of freezing or teleportation. The use of this type of ability at a key moment in a match can completely reverse the fate of the match.

The Mokus game combines an original idea with quite complex mechanics and minimalist frame, enriched with hand drawn backgrounds and colorful light effects. In addition, the creators gave the players a functional editor, allowing them to create their own maps.
