Working on a farm has the quality of requiring you to put down roots in most cases. Developers from the independent German studio VoodooDuck, however, decided to prove that you can just as well run your own farm and travel the world at the same time. Thus was born the idea for a farming adventure game titled Collector's Cove.
In Collector's Cove, events are viewed from a bird's eye view. During the gameplay , we take on the role of a character who runs a farm... aboard a ship pulled by her large animal friend. Traversing the archipelago located in the vast ocean, we discover more islands and climate zones, each boasting a unique flora.
We can learn about and collect the plants growing on each piece of land, completing the Collector's Compendium and planting them in our own plots after returning on board. In addition, during the game we catch fish, among which there is no shortage of rare specimens.
A separate mention is due to our animal companion, with whom we gradually strengthen the bond through various interactions. The game allows you to modify its appearance, using a variety of accessories. We can also adapt the ship to our individual preferences, using found materials and making items of equipment out of them.
The graphic design of Collector's Cove was made in colorful low poly technique (its elements are based on a relatively small number of polygons).

Collector’s Cove is a game that, despite its flaws, manages to deliver moments of relaxation and a pleasant escape from daily life. The concept of a floating farm and a dinosaur companion is undeniably original and well-executed aesthetically. However, the lack of meaningful interactions, repetitive activities, and limited content variety risk making the experience feel a bit dull after the first few hours. If you’re a fan of cozy games and looking for a laid-back, no-frills adventure, Collector’s Cove might be just what you need. But if you’re seeking something more dynamic and full of surprises, you might end up disappointed.
