The main cons of the game

  • Technical Issues and Bugs: Many users report frequent crashes, bugs, and glitches that detract from the overall experience. Issues with AI, networking, and the user interface are also common complaints.
  • Playerbase: The game suffers from a low active player count, making it difficult to find multiplayer matches, which can diminish the experience, especially in cooperative modes.
  • Difficulty and Frustration: Some players find the game's difficulty level frustrating, particularly in solo play, where the mechanics can feel punishing without a team to support them.

The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users

  • Better Navigation and Clue Systems: Players express a desire for clearer navigation cues or objective markers to help guide them through levels, as the current system can lead to aimless wandering.
  • Improved AI and Bots: Many players want enhancements to AI behavior, both for teammates and zombies, to make gameplay smoother and more engaging.
  • Checkpoints: The absence of checkpoints during missions is a common complaint, with players wanting the ability to save progress at various points rather than restarting entire levels upon failure.
  • Enhanced Visuals and Animations: Some users feel the graphics and animations are dated and could benefit from improvements to enhance the overall experience.
  • More Engaging Single-Player Experience: Feedback suggests that the single-player mode lacks the depth and engagement found in multiplayer, making it less enjoyable for those playing alone.

Summary

  • Overall, Contagion presents a unique take on the zombie survival genre, appealing to fans of atmospheric and strategic gameplay, but it faces challenges with technical issues, player engagement, and design that may deter potential new players.
