Crayola Scoot Description
Crayola Scoot is a sports game, in which we get the opportunity to participate in competitive scooter riding competitions. The game is characterized by an arcade driving model and extremely colorful visuals. Developers from Climax Studios (responsible for RiftStar Raides and Assassin's Creed: Chronicles) are responsible for creating this title. Outright Games has taken the role of publisher.
Mechanics
The rules of Crayola Scoot are simple. We start the game by creating a character - we get the opportunity to adjust the name, gender and appearance. Then, observing our character from TPP camera, we ride a scooter and perform various kinds of spectacular tricks. This requires pressing the appropriate combinations of buttons on the pad and the correct use of Boost mechanics, which enables us to jump higher (however, we can't do it all the time - it costs "energy", the level of which is visible on a special indicator).
The more spectacular our ride is, the more points we get. In addition, developers from Climax Studios diversified the game with an interesting solution, reminiscent of the shooter series Splatoon from Nintendo - our character's vehicle leaves behind stains of colored paint (its color is assigned to a given player). The better the trick, the bigger the stain on the ground or wall.
The creators have prepared a dozen or so different maps, characterized by a different appearance and geometry. As the game progresses, we also unlock new scooters, and our hero learns new tricks. We are also improving the statistics that determine, among other things, the speed of movement, the ability to steer or manoeuvre, as well as the amount of energy used by boost.
Game modes
Crayola Scoot can be played solo or with others. Single players can compete with AI-controlled competitors, while players who prefer to have fun in company can use the local and network multiplayer mode (for up to 4 people). In both cases, several game modes are available, such as Color Frenzy, Crazy Crayon, Splatter Tag, S.C.O.O.T. and Trick Run. It is also possible to compete for the Crayola Color Cup.
Technical aspects
Crayola Scoot features quite simple, three-dimensional visuals, which was created using the technique of cel-shading - so that both the game world and characters look like a comic book or animated film. The game focuses on transparency and sharp, expressive colors. It is worth noting that the PC version of this game does not have support for keyboard and mouse - it requires a controller (gamepad).
