The Darwin Project for PC and XONE is a multiplayer Battle Royale-esque third person survival combat game developed by an independent Canadian studio – Scavengers. Players take the roles of warriors with some special abilities; their job is to eliminate their opponents.
The Darwin Project for PC and XONE takes place in Canada, near the Canadian Rockies mountain ridge. The game presents a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is facing a new ice age. The titular Darwin Project was created during the preparation for the cataclysm. Its participants, incapacitated convicts, face each other in a ruthless fight to death in order to select the master of survival.
Just like in other Battle Royale-like games, players in The Darwin Project for PC and XONE are closed together in a big area and has to fight each other until only one of them is left alive. While facing each other, they can use tracking skills or set various traps. Each playable character has their own unique skills and strengths and weaknesses. We will also have to survive in a cold, harsh environment where nature is as dangerous (or even more dangerous) as our opponents.
The Darwin Project for PC and XONE has high quality visuals and a cartoonish art-style. The game uses Mixer, Microsoft’s interactive streaming service that allows the viewers to influence the game, i.e. they can give their favorite player a shield.
