A brawler in which we face off against giant monsters. In Dawn of the Monsters, we take control of one of four guardians and eliminate hordes of powerful Nephilim as we try to reclaim Earth from their hands.
Dawn of the Monsters is a beat'em up that allows us to fight with giant monsters. Game was developed by 13AM Games studio and WayForward company.
The story presented in Dawn of the Monsters begins in the year 2036, when the progressing climate change has led to the awakening of monsters known as Nephilim. Giant monsters spread fear and destruction, destroying entire metropolises. To face them a special task force has been formed. Members of DAWN, as this was the name of the organization, needed as much as three decades to prepare for the counterattack. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait, as they created their own creatures to fight the monsters. Now there is nothing left for them but to liberate the planet from the hands of the giants. .
In Dawn of the Monsters we observe the action from the side. It allows us to take on the role of one of the four giant guardians. Megadon is a huge reptile, called a living volcano for a reason; Ganira is an oversized crustacean; Aegis Prime is a superhumanly huge and agile warrior; Tempest Galahad is a huge mech
There are 35 missions to complete, in which we traverse a variety of stages inspired by real places (led by the largest metropolises, such as Tokyo or Toronto) and eliminate hordes of enemies. Each guardian fights in his own way and has an individual set of strengths and abilities. Battles are dynamic and duels with Nephilim can be concluded with spectacular finishers. Apart from regular opponents, which are not a big problem to defeat, there are much more powerful bosses on our way.
As we progress we gain DNA upgrades, thanks to which we can increase our combat potential, and thus - prepare to face greater challenges.
Dawn of the Monsters can be played solo or in local cooperative mode for two players.
Dawn of the Monsters features cartoonish graphics in a colorful manga-inspired style.

Game Ratings for Dawn of the Monsters Video Game.
GameSpew: 8 / 10 by Richard Seagrave
If you’re a fan of kaiju or side-scrolling beat ’em ups, consider Dawn of the Monsters absolutely essential. You won’t find another game like it. Though even if you’re not typically a fan of those genres, you should still give it a go if you simply like to have fun; even more so the local co-op variety. Doing battle with giant beasts has never been as deep or enjoyable as this, especially with its DNA augment system that allows for a surprising amount of build variety. If this is the Dawn of the Monsters, we’re ready for the Day of the Monsters.

Well damn, who knew that within a two week span I’d play two very different titles on Switch that have the beat-em-up genre deep within their DNA but are so completely different and are also both fantastic for their own reasons...
Nintendo Life: 8 / 10 by Stuart Gipp
Dawn of the Monsters stumbles into some of the more common pitfalls of belt-scrolling fighters, but it has enough flair, polish and excitement to be a more than worthy offering, particularly played in couch co-op with a friend. We wish there were a few more playable creatures, but the ones on offer here are all very distinct and enormous fun to get to grips with. It's a richly rewarding game, with higher ranks unlocking new skins and upgrades from the in-game shop (don't worry, no microtransactions here) which offer an incentive to keep playing - though the real reason you'll stick with Dawn of the Monsters is that it is, quite simply, very good indeed. While it has a few problems, they're nothing that will stop you having a blast with this Brobdingnagian beat-'em-up.
