A science fiction 2D side-scroll beat 'em up game with role-playing elements by Japanese studio OneorEight. The plot is focused on an invasion of hostile aliens, who destroy everything in their path and are completely resistant to traditional weaponry. When scientists discover that the aliens can only be harmed with weapons based on their own technology, a special team is created.
Earth's Dawn for PS4, PC and XONE is an arcade action game with role-playing elements created by Japanese studio OneorEight. It was previously released in Japan and titled Earth Wars, but thanks to Rising Star Games was also made available to players in the West.
The Earth is on the brink of destruction as a race of hostile aliens known as the E.B.E. Launches an invasion. They ravage everything in their patch and are completely resistant to human weaponry. Eventually, however, it turns out that the aliens can be harmed with weapons based on their own technology. As a member of an elite team created to stop the invaders, you have to face the overwhelming forces of the enemy.
Earth's Dawn for PS4, PC and XONE is a 2D side-scroll beat 'em up game, similar to e.g. Shank. The gameplay is mostly combat-focused, and to succeed you need to perform lethal combo attacks. The system was designed in such a way that new players can quickly get a hang of the rules, but the difficulty level increases as the game progresses, so there's also some challenge for the more experienced players. Along the way, you gather experience, thanks to which you develop your skills and increase you efficiency. The skills are selected from the skill tree, which allows you to fit your character to your preferred playstyle.
The visuals of Earth's Dawn for PS4, PC and XONE, despite its typical Japanese style, is dark and unsettling. Thanks to many special effects, it looks very well in action and draws your attention.

Earth's Dawn is a solid little title with a few minor niggles that hold it back from being a great title. On the surface, the game appears quite simple and yet the combat, skills and crafting make for quite a deep and intriguing game with many gameplay and combat possibilities.

The game is very addictive, the graphics are really vibrant and great despite its post-apocalyptic backdrop. The missions offer a nice variety and can be replayed to get better ranks. The crafting system is simple and fun. The gameplay is solid and very entertaining.
