Doodle Devil is the next part of the series of 2D puzzle games, and also a direct sequel to Doodle God. The series was developed by JoyBits studio, founded in 2002, and received a refreshed edition Doodle Devil: 3volution, which came to eighth-generation consoles.
The story is not an important element of the game, but it accompanies us throughout the game. As the ruler of hell we create new sins, plagues, demons, beasts and weaknesses in a manner typical for the series, i.e. by mixing various ingredients together. What's more, our creations may prove necessary to bring new horrors to life. More components are also provided by subsequent stages, into which Doodle Devil is divided. Each discovery is accompanied by an appropriate (and often hilarious) quote.
The aim of the game is to uncover the seven deadly sins, but there are also special tasks to complete along the way. These boil down to acquiring unique artefacts or groups of items tied together in a minor story.
After the debut of Doodle Devil on PC and PlayStation Vita, the developers introduced a number of new features. In addition to the main campaign and the aforementioned side missions, players can try their hand at demon battles (in which you must assist your subordinate by combining elements) and single puzzles.
Like other JoyBits games, Doodle Devil uses simple but colourful yet eye-pleasing 2D graphics. There are no lavish locations or too many spectacular special effects - most of the time is spent in the item creation menu.
