ThisGenGaming: 8.5 / 10 by Justin Oneil

Overall, EA Sports College Football 27 isn’t a huge leap forward but it has seen mostly positive improvements year over year. The Dynasty mode and Road to Glory modes are now more fleshed out giving you deeper levels of control while both sides of the ball in the gameplay have made upgrades.

Gamer Social Club: 8 / 10 by Marcus Lawson

EA Sports College Football 27 has the best gameplay hands down. I was so excited during the reveal and the announcement of all the new features. Finally getting hands on and experiencing the new features really made my day. While some things still need work, like we need something better than this current version of ‘‘Mascot Mashup”. I still feel like love was lacking from this year’s iteration and there are so many other ways to make it better.

Hardcore Gamer: 4.5 / 5 by Cory Wells

EA SPORTS brings NIL and the modern football life to the gaming world. The best gameplay in a football game to date, but elephants are in the room.

The main cons of the game

  • Bugs and Glitches: The game is riddled with bugs, including crashes, freezing during gameplay, and issues with play calling and player interactions, making it unplayable for many users.

The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users

  • XP Sliders: Users have expressed disappointment over the removal of XP sliders, which previously allowed for customizable progression rates in offline modes like Dynasty and Road to Glory.
  • Balanced Progression: Many players feel that the progression system is overly grindy and slow, making it difficult to develop players without resorting to microtransactions.
  • Robust AI Logic: There is a call for improved AI logic and behavior, as many players feel that the current AI does not accurately simulate realistic football scenarios.
  • Enhanced Customization Options: Some users miss the ability to customize gameplay settings and sliders that were available in previous iterations, leading to a less personalized gaming experience.

Summary

  • Overall, while EA SPORTS™ College Football 27 has some positive aspects, particularly in graphics and certain gameplay mechanics, it is hampered by significant AI issues, bugs, and a controversial monetization strategy that has affected player enjoyment.
