Airships are a concept that video game creators do not often reach for. Among such developers is the independent American studio Loric Games, which is behind the action RPG titled Echoes of Elysium.

Gameplay

In Echoes of Elysium events are viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP).

Airships

The game takes us to a fantastical, procedurally generated world composed of islands floating in the sky. We explore the land aboard our airship, which serves not only as a means of transportation but also as a mobile base of operations.

Fleet expansion and character development

As we progress, we gather resources that allow us to craft new equipment for our character and develop the character by unlocking skills. Additionally, the resources we acquire can be used to produce new ships and upgrade the ones we already have. It is up to us whether we want to pilot heavy, flying fortresses or decide to create fast, agile ships. We also recruit crew members over time.

Combat

The world of Echoes of Elysium is not a particularly friendly place. On our path stand members of the Heron faction - swarms of small flying machines and armadas of ships, as well as enemy towers. We engage in dynamic skirmishes with opponents both in the skies and on land. That second option allows us to directly control our character (who can move on foot or, for example, use a jetpack).
