The independent Swedish studio Housefire from Gothenburg has existed since 2024. For their first venture, the team chose to create an adventure game, set in the convention of cosmic horror. In Eclipsium, as this production is called, we end up in a hellish land.

Gameplay

Eclipsium allows us to watch the action from the first-person perspective (FPP).

Hellish crossing

During the game, we take on the role of a character who wakes up in a terrifying world, not remembering how they got there. After we manage to spot a looming tower with a beating heart at the top in the distance, we decide to head in its direction. Before we will reach our journey's destination, we will have to uncover the secrets of this dreamlike land, as well as learn the truth about our stay in this place.

Gameplay

While exploring locations, we often have to strain our brains, as our path is blocked by logical and environmental puzzles. They involve manipulating the reality around us and also our own perception. Completing them requires entering into specific interactions with the presented world, among which there is no shortage of bloody sacrifices. Our actions do not remain without impact on the appearance and structure of the places we visit.
