Elemental Monster Online Card Game is a virtual card game. It is designed to resemble a Magic the Gathering card, the digital versions of which are available on all the most popular hardware platforms. Unlike Magic, Elemental Monster has no equivalent in the real world and its rules were created from scratch with the game in mind. The production of the title is the responsibility of the Japanese studio Hudson, which in its more than thirty years of history has worked on titles for several dozen different consoles.

Despite the fact that the game in the title has the word "online", it also offers a large campaign for a single player, which will take us from a few to even several dozen hours to complete. The plot presented in the campaign is casual and exceptionally simple, remaining only a background for card duels. We play the role of a man using the ancient art of enchanting the essence of objects and living creatures in inconspicuous cards. Our main task is to fight against other people with identical abilities. In the campaign we face stronger and more demanding opponents, in a series of several dozen fights.

The rules of the game are quite simple and even people who have no previous contact with cards should assimilate them quickly. Our goal is to defeat all monster cards called by the opponent. Duels take place in rounds. Each monster has its own pool of health points and attacks, which can be used once per turn. At the beginning of the duel the player has six minions, selected before the fight. Our opponent sees only 3 of them, which are in the first row. The other three are invisible reserve benches, who enter the place of the beaten and pre-determined card. Because monsters are assigned to different elemental families, such as fire and water, they have both resistance and weakness to specific elements that affect their defense and attack. The main field for strategists to show off is to draw cards in such a way as to surprise the opponent. Under an inconspicuous and weak monster, a powerful dragon can wait in the second row, completely changing the outcome of the battle. Also important are the special skills of individual monsters and the already mentioned assigning them to individual elemental families.

After winning a duel as a prize we receive a new randomly selected card, which comes from one of the three basic sets. After purchasing the DLC, you can also choose from stronger cards from the other sets offered by the game.

In the network game we can participate in single matches as well as complex tournaments and ranking duels, which influence our position on the list of the best players.

The graphic design of the title consists of simple animations of cards and attacks, a three-dimensional model of the table on which the duels take place, as well as two-dimensional illustrations assigned to each of the cards.
