Dark Souls (and other productions referred to as soulslike) has served as a template for various video games, not necessarily genre-related and drawing on this position in various respects. One of the titles inspired by FromSoftware's work is Enchain, a boomer shooter developed by an independent developer known as mattlawrdev.

Gameplay

In Enchain, the action is viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP). During the gameplay, we play the role of the last corpse to rise from the dead. Wanting to find a way out of the tomb of humanity, the protagonist must tear through the place and eliminate hordes of his relatives.

The aforementioned inspirations of "Souls" relate primarily to the level design. The locations stretch horizontally and vertically, and are non-linear and filled with turns waiting to be found. As we expand our range of possibilities as we progress, it is worth returning to already visited places to explore the missed areas.
