Fairy Tail is a jRPG adaptation of a manga series under the same name. It tells the story of wizards who live in the title mages guild. Gust Studios is responsible for the development of the game and Koei Tecmo took care of the release.
The story of Fairy Tail focuses on the inhabitants of the Mages Guild in the Magnolia Town.
The adventure is based on one formula. The players receive a request from the local population that must be completed. As a reward, the rank of our guild grows.
Fairy Tail is one of the classic representatives of the jRPG genre. During the adventure, the player explores the game world, talks to NPCs, performs tasks assigned to them and fights in turn-based battles.
In total, there are more than 10 different playable characters in the game. Relations between the members of the team are formed. Their strength depends on how often they are on the team together. In addition, each character has its own set of outfits, which can be changed.
The combat is conducted in turn-based mode, based on a command system. This means that the player controls the team members indirectly by giving the appropriate commands. The skirmishes are strategic in nature. Each hero can only cast a spell if they have enough special points. In addition, it is also possible to perform a combo of magical attacks.
The Guild and the whole city develop with the progress of the game. With time, the player will gain access to better items in stores and will be able to build a research laboratory.
Fairy Tail offers manga style graphics.

Game Ratings for Fairy Tail Video Game.
Nintendo Life: 6 / 10 by Mitch Vogel
At the end of the day, Fairy Tail is not a great RPG. Shortcomings in storytelling, pacing, difficulty, and performance all add up to make for a less than stellar experience which consistently seems to waste its potential. The well-made combat system and the adherence to the tone and content of the source material give occasional glimpses of the much greater RPG that Fairy Tail could be, but alas, it's never really given the chance to spread its wings. We wouldn't recommend you pick this one up, especially given the wealth of excellent RPGs available on the eShop right now, but we say that with the caveat that fans of the franchise will get a lot more out of this game than newcomers. If you happen to be a fan, Fairy Tail might be worth the punt if it's on sale someday, but otherwise, we'd encourage you to look into other games.
Push Square: 7 / 10 by Jade Sayers
Fairy Tail carries on going even when the storyline is done; there's plenty to upgrade in the guild, and a multitude of characters to rank up, unlocking new content and cutscenes. That, combined with an enjoyable battle system, makes Gust's latest a solid experience for anime fans.
PlayStation LifeStyle: 9 / 10 by Annette Polis
The very best thing about FAIRY TAIL is just how much fun the game is. Absolutely nothing about this game feels like a chore. It's a delightful romp through Fiore following Natsu's story from X791 arc onward. Not having to grind for hours on end may be the most refreshing part of it all. My JRPG junkies know all too well how much time we tend to spend power leveling characters just so we can move the needle forward. Every aspect of Fairy Tail has been expertly crafted and balanced perfectly in this reviewer's opinion.
