Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues is another DLC for well-received Fallout: New Vegas by Obsidian Entertainment. The developers prepared a bunch of this kind of expansions, each of which tells a new story and takes the player to the previously unavailable corners of Mojave Wasteland.
In Old World Blues, we visit a so-it-would-seem abandoned research crater, Big MT, in which extraordinary scientists from the Think Tank group reside. The researchers managed to transfer their brains into technologically advanced containers and in this way were able to overcome the limitations of mortal body in order to conduct their research eternally. Alas, one of them got out of control and threatens the very existence of the facility. The task of the player is to investigate the situation in the crater and the underground labs. The circumstances are unusual, though, for the protagonist’s brain, heart and spine were cut out and replaced with artificial counterparts. The stakes are high – the success or failure of the lone daredevil will determine the future of the entire science.
The DLC contains elements typical for such expansions. The biggest attraction is the new area to explore, which contains research center, canyons, labs and other research facilities. There are previously unknown enemies wandering about, among which we may find mutated animals and atomic robots, among others. The mission pack also allows to advance the player character even further (level cap is increased by 5) and acquire new weapons, armors and pre-war artifacts.
